Do rap-music on demand! Compose sounds with your very own words! Scho-Scho (http://www.scho-scho.ch) is a messageboard which converts pieces of text into speech and music.
Similar to Hip-Hop culture, the texts are arranged as “battle”, as fight between black and white or gangs. Either you support the left side by “dissing” the others, or you’re on the right side. Using a special syntax, users can sync the texts to the beat. Scho-Scho was shown in a exhibition in the Museum of Communication, Berne.
Scho-Scho is a pure web application, running server-side on PERL and PHP, to save data, a MySQL Database is used. The conversion of text to speech is done unsing freely available open source tools.
